⬤ E-talk Introduction
What would be the role of an art-in-residence(AIR) initiative to the artists, creators, and researchers? How an AIR can help placemaking and placemarketing? Beginning in the 1990s, the idea of artist residencies as an approach toward the support of creative art has gained recognition in Taiwan.

Cultural policy has thus participated in the establishment of residency centers, funding the establishment and reconstruction of residency centers, recommending artists and creative workers for research and work at overseas residency centers, and encouraging international exchange programs in the form of artist residencies, have continued unabated over the last 20 years. Propelled by the waves of globalization and the spread of the creative economy, the “artist-in-residence” has transformed rapidly, evolved, and developed into an open and fluid concept. Under the ubiquitous creative economy, artist residencies have taken on diverse forms, uncovered new topics, and have redefined the relationship between creative workers and society.
